We are following a circuitous route tomorrow - mostly backroads if we can. We prefer to drive through little towns rather on highways that reveal little about the country you are travelling in.
We are on our way to Arcos de la Frontera - one of the pueblos blancos in Andalucia. We are staying there two nights. Our hotel is in the newer part of town which means climbs to the old town but at least our car will fit on the road without wiping off the side mirrors.
We loved our stay in Portugal and found that "Obrigado" and smiles got us a long way.
Eurasian Hoopoe - seen hunting for bugs outside our hotel
Hard to capture because he didn't sit still very long. When a second one arrived, his crown stood straight up.
Better look when he hopped onto a balcony.
