Last day in Tavira, back to Spain tomorrow

We spent the day enjoying staying at a resort. Sat around the pool and read, went for walks to the cafe for coffee and lunch. It is very hot in the sun, cool in the shade. Really perfect for us but not so much for tourists - it's very quiet here.
We are following a circuitous route tomorrow - mostly backroads if we can. We prefer to drive through little towns rather on highways that reveal little about the country you are travelling in.
We are on our way to Arcos de la Frontera - one of the pueblos blancos  in Andalucia. We are staying there two nights. Our hotel is in the newer part of town which means climbs to the old town but at least our car will fit on the road without wiping off the side mirrors.

We loved our stay in Portugal and found that "Obrigado" and smiles got us a long way.

Eurasian Hoopoe - seen hunting for bugs outside our hotel
Hard to capture because he didn't sit still very long. When a second one arrived, his crown stood straight up.

Better look when he hopped onto a balcony.
