Two penguins tilt at windmills

Bill Tilting...

We did it. Travelled across the plains of La Mancha in search of windmills to tilt. Drove through little towns, across miles and miles of Olive Plantations, stopping in to ask directions from people whose English compared to my Spanish, i.e. non-existent. But there they were - 11 windmills on the horizon along with a ruined castle.
We are now spending the night in Cordoba before heading further south. It is already warming up.

Huge ancient trunks on olive trees

Beautiful oolours of Castille-La Mancha. Sky is hazy from burning and smokestacks.
The streets of small towns we wound through

Consuegra - the town below the windmills.
Three of eleven that line the hill
Aren't they beautiful?

Another kind of windmill also line hills. But there are also vast fields of solar panels. Air was filled with smoke for miles. Some from burning (from pruned olive trees? Some from smiokestacks
