Royal Alcazar

The outside of the Alcazar purposefully does not reveal the beauty within.

We spent the afternoon on a guided tour in the Alcazar. This series of buildings and gardens were added to over centuries but the part that is most unique is the mudejar architecture from the 14th Century. King Pedro became friends with the Sultan of Granada and was loaned Muslim craftsmen to create something similar to the Alhambra of Granada which Pedro coveted. They did such an impressive job that the Sultan's descendent upon visiting yanked the men home and threatened them with their lives if they didn't create something more impressive in the Alhambra. (They did but ended up being thrown in prison anyway.)
I'll let their work speak for itself.
